Why A Company Should Hand Out Smart Phones

With the release of various smart phones are companies choosing to hand their employees the iPhone rather than get technology for their landlines like 0800 numbers and premium rate phone numbers?

The Reasons

Tracking

There are actually quite a few reasons that support why companies are handing out brand new smart phones to their employees. One of the major reasons is that they can keep track of their employees wherever they are going which of course is something that the average boss would love to do. You can then see exactly what your employees are up too. Are they really off to the doctors or are they just off home for a nice paid afternoon off?

Kindness

If someone was to receive one of these phones then they are going to feel a hell of lot better about the company and feel like they are very valued. if you give your employees all of the latest gadgets then you are showing that you really care about them and it could help them to work a bit harder as their morale's are going to be higher.

More Work?

It is not just emails that can be accessed via the phones but other things too however email is something that is very useful. You could get them to start the day by looking and answering emails on the train which saves the first 30 minutes of the day being wasted on this.

Negatives

One of the major downsides to doing something like this is actually the cost that you are going to get. Although you could get all of these phones on pay as you go, you would only really start to see some benefits in the business. It is certainly going to cost you a lot of money if you have a lot of people within the office itself.

You are still going to need systems like the fax to email in place as the smart phone is not quite clever enough to redirect faxes into an email format just yet.
