Dream Advocacy – firms that suggest there clients can find and practice their soul work, meet (or more fully meet) their highest potential, and make positive changes in their lives.

Wisdom – find a firm that respects your limits, show gentleness towards certain vulnerabilities, and never imposes their own values or hopes on you.

Trust – Find a firm that is patient with you as well as the process they teach. The coaches should also be patient with the program that they are teaching you.

Partnership – It’s important that the firm recognizes when an issue or block is beyond there expertise and shows savvy in assessing clients need, conferring with colleagues and making referrals to other professionals.

Safety – It’s important for the firm to witness, hold the space for, and appropriately respond to a full range of emotions. Coaches should listen openly and show great tolerance and support for all differing values that so many different people might have.

Focus – They should appropriately use self disclosure, focusing on the need of the client and knowing that self-disclosure should be used instructionally and prudently.

Expertise – They should judiciously use and balance strategizing, advising, guiding, questioning, challenging, giving honest feedback, and listening.

Mastery – You should seek out a firm that strives to become masterful as speakers, coaches, guides and teachers.

As you may suspect, there are many life coaching courses out there and many of them use different methodologies of teaching. It takes people with special skills and a unique life story to execute so many layers and help people through career/life transitions. When looking for help you need to be patient and do your due diligence – eventually you’ll find the right career coaching firm that’s right for you.
